Curriculum Night … and prizes!

Parents can learn so much about life at Brookdale tonight. Amid the presentations about expectations for your children, you can discover how you can help out in their classrooms and with programs and fundraisers that add to their school experience.
As you sign up for parent-teacher conferences in the Multipurpose Room, you’ll also find PTA tables where you can sign up to help with class parties, field trips and the Art Awareness program.
You’ll also have a chance to learn more about the PTA’s first two fundraisers of the year: the spirit wear sale and the gift wrap sale. Together, the sales are expected to generate about $9,200 in net proceeds, nearly half the income for the PTA to put toward assemblies, family nights and other activities this year. Both sales begin next week and continue into September.
And while knowledge certainly is its own reward, a gift basket also makes a lovely prize.
Be sure to stop by the gift wrap table to enter a raffle for a gift basket filled with all kinds of items representing what’s available in the sale. A raffle entry is free, and winners need not be present at the drawing. Just stop by, fill out a raffle ticket and cross your fingers.
If you’re the lucky parent, all of this will be yours: a winter-design ceramic bowl, cup and platter set, candy and nuts, cheese and sausage, a nut chopper, a cookbook, a collapsible colander, measuring spoons, four silicon mini cups and four different bath spa items.
Curriculum Night runs 6 to 8:15 p.m., with PTA information available throughout the evening.
